To apply eyeliner if you're a beginner, get close to the mirror and draw small dots just above the lash line, starting from the centre and moving outwards. Then connect the dots with a light hand: you’ll get a precise and symmetrical line without drawing it all in one go.

The easiest eyeliner to use is a felt-tip eyeliner: its precise tip and controlled application allow you to create clean and symmetrical lines even without much experience.

The difference between liquid eyeliner and gel eyeliner lies in the texture and finish. Liquid eyeliner delivers an intense, defined finish perfect for graphic and bold looks, while gel eyeliner has a creamier, more buildable texture ideal for soft blends and personalised lines.

To make eyeliner last all day, apply an eye primer before makeup and choose a waterproof or long-lasting eyeliner. You can improve its hold by setting it with a matte eyeshadow of the same colour applied with a thin brush.

To choose the right eyeliner colour based on your eye colour: brown eyes stand out with warm tones like brown, bronze or blue; green eyes pop with plum or purple; blue eyes are enhanced with golden-brown or gold. Black eyeliner remains a timeless classic for every look.
