Everyday makeup looks: tips and tricks

The first piece of advice we dispense is: stick with products that match and enhance your natural features, do not try to change things too much.
For example, if your eyelids are naturally tinted light pink, your eye shadow of choice should be of a similar shade. You can play around with matte or glittery effects but stick to that shade for a more natural result.

Here are other few tips you may found useful:
1.    Wear under-eye concealer. For a fresh face, it’s helpful to mask any under-eye bags or dark circles with a touch of concealer.
2.    Avoid harsh contouring contrasts. The ever-so-popular contouring trend has unfortunately led women to harshly contrast their bronzer and concealer colours. However, choosing a product that is too light or too dark for your skin makes the product too obvious and unnatural. The general advice is: stick to a concealer that is just two shades lighter than your natural skin colour and a bronzer that is a couple of shades darker.
3.    Curl your lashes. Curling your lashes (before the application of mascara) is the secret to achieve extra volume effect without having to resort to your falsies. It is amazing what a small eyelash curler can do!
4.    Do not colour your lips with a dark pencil. This looks is slightly outdated nowadays and would age your mouth unnecessarily. Use a light shade or one that is a few shades lighter than your lipstick of choice.
5.    Mascara, mascara, mascara. If you only have time to do one thing before leaving the house, make sure that one thing is applying mascara. Dark brown or black elongates your eyelashes and it also can open and brighten tired eyes.
6.    Blush in every season. No matter the time of year, you should absolutely consider blush a daily beauty essential. It should be your everyday staple. It makes your skin look instantly radiant and glowing, let alone being one of the easiest things to apply on your face.

The “No-makeup” makeup look

Here is a way to look glamorous with very little effort.
1.    Prime your skin: apply a primer over your entire face to create an even canvas for the rest of your makeup.
2.    Correct the imperfections: before applying any foundation, take your concealer to neutralise the look of any discolorations.
3.    Use matte foundation: once you are done with blending out your concealer shades, apply a matte foundation over your face, dabbing it onto your skin with a makeup blender.
4.    Prime your lids: just as primer can help your foundation and concealer go on easier, it can also help make for a smoother eye makeup application
5.    Apply nude shadow to your lids. Now that your lids are primed, apply a solid wash of nude shadow to your lids. Then, you can add a touch of a deeper shade in your crease to add depth to your look and a swipe of a lighter shade along your brow bone to create a highlighted effect.
6.    Use brown eyeliner. To open the look of your eyes a bit, dot your lash lines with your brown eyeliner. Be sure to dot and not draw a completely connected line. This will look more natural and help create the appearance of fuller lashes, as opposed to a bold, harsh line.
7.    Lightly define your brows. As you will not be wearing much colour, you can enhance the features you have: to do so, you can define your brows with a brow mascara.
8.    Apply a coat (or two) of mascara. Make your eyes stand out a bit with a couple of coats of volumising effect mascara.
9.    Trace your lips with nude lipstick: complete your look with a matte lipstick.

The “brown smokey eye” look

You like smokey eyes but would still like to keep a natural look? Well, here is the solution that would work for you.
1.    Prime your eyes. No matter what, always prime your eyes to make your makeup last longer.
2.    Apply foundation to your face.
3.    Colour your lids. Apply either of the two brown shades to your eyelids (we suggest using a palette).
4.    Add dimension. Using the same palette, apply the lightest shade to the inner corner of your eye and below the arch of your eyebrows. Deepen the colour slightly with a fluffy brush and apply the darkest shade of the same palette to your crease.
5.    Apply eyeliner. Create a natural eyeliner effect using a pencil liner on your upper and external lower lash line. With a small flat top brush, lightly smudge the eyeliner for a seamless, more natural-looking result.
6.    Once again, mascara. Add a coat or two of black-brown mascara to your lashes (which you may have curled first to enhance the effect.
7.    Define your features: apply a bronzer to the hollows of your cheeks, your jawline, and your temples to warm up your look a bit. Lightly apply a neutral blush to your cheekbones, then top things off with a highlighter on your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose.
8.    Time for lipstick. Finish up your makeup look with a lipstick that closely matches your natural lip colour.
9.    Lock it all in: top off your look with a few sprays of a makeup setting product for all-day staying power.
