Versatile and innovative, the Japanese designer explores the boundary between art and design, always adding a touch of originality to his creations. Born and raised in Tokyo, he graduated in 1962 from the Tokyo University of the Arts with a degree in industrial design.

In Japan, he began to take his first steps in design, working for Seiko on a series of projects related to the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Since 1963, he has lived in Italy where he founded Makio Hasuike & Co, one of the first industrial design studios.
In 1982, he created MH Way, an experimental project focused on new types of bags and briefcases.
